SOC Summer Youth Programs

Each summer we offer fun and imaginative programs for children to young adults. This year we partner with Santa Ana College Community Services to offer our educational programming. Read on to see how we will inspire your young ones with the power of live theatre.

SUMMER YOUTH CAMP

YOUNG ACTOR'S PROJECT WITH THEATER SEOUL 

Open to young actors ages 8-13.

Rehearses mornings, Monday through Friday, for approximately 2 hours a day (no snack time).

Start date June 17. Price $300.

 

Students will rehearse a one-hour modern language adaptation of Shakespeare's beloved romance, ROMEO AND JULIET, with music and songs. Produced in collaboration with internationally renowned Theater Seoul. Costumes provided.

 

The workshop culminates in two free performances for families and children on June 29th and 30th.

SHAKESPEARE INTENSIVE

Open to ages 14-22.  Afternoons July 16-19. $300

One-week Shakespeare workshop led by LA DRAMA CRITICS AWARD WINNER Bo Foxworth and Ovation Nominee for Best Actress Elyse Mirto. Students will delve into how to analyze Shakespeare's text and bring it to life, working with sonnets, monologues, and scenes.

MASTER CLASSES

Master Classes are offered, taught by accomplished actors and other industry professionals, offering insight into the craft, technique, and business of acting professionally. This summer, Michael Nehring and Miguel Perez, also members of the SOC Company this season, will each lead a master class. Other classes TBA. Details subject to change.

MIGUEL PEREZ

Mr. Perez is well known from his TV appearances and his work at he New York Shakespeare Festival. His master class will focus on the actors' life in NY and Los Angeles.

   

Friday August 9. Open to High School and older. $100

Award-winning actor, director, professor at Chapman University, and former SOC Company member, Michael Nehring returns to SOC.
