Orange County's Professional Theatre devoted to the Classics

Shakespeare Orange County Past Seasons - 2008

Henry V

The story of one of England’s most respected monarchs, Henry V, known for uniting Britain, in a successful quest for the unification of both England and France. Set against the backdrop of war, Shakespeare’s epic work questions the subject of war--Is it a vehicle for glory or one of horror? The Bard’s examination of the dynasty of Britain’s very own House of Lancaster is known for its famous speeches, as well as a courageous king and his undaunted men’s pursuit of victory in a long shot battle against the French. After four centuries, Henry V remains a shining star in the canon of world literature.

Directed by Carl Reggiardo.

The Tempest

A shipwreck delivers a party of conspirators and their guests to an island inhabited by a sorcerer, his daughter, and a mélange of characters, of both the magical and half-human sort. It’s payback time for the villains, as the Sorcerer Prospero now has the opportunity for revenge. But things change for all when the sorcerer’s daughter falls for the enemy’s son, and in the final moment, the Bard leaves us “with such stuff as dreams are made on”.

Directed by Thomas F. Bradac.
